TRIPLE DIVIDE TRAIL

In the summer and fall of 2010 we designed a far reaching strategic plan known as the Triple Divide Trail System that would link the Genesee Valley Greenway via the WAG Trail with the Pine Creek Trail in PA.

The Triple Divide Trail System would also link three of the most important parks in the region: Letchworth and Allegany State Parks, and the state parks and state forests that form the “Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.” Allegany County and its section of the upper Genesee (now called the Genesee River Wilds) would become the centerpiece of a unique recreational corridor that would run from Rochester NY to Williamsport PA. A third leg would go west to Allegany State Park. It would cater to hikers, bicyclists, canoe and kayak enthusiasts, fishermen, birdwatchers and to anyone who wants to take some time to enjoy the natural wonders of this area.

SAFETY

 We’re collaborating with the Allegany County Department of Emergency Management to compile resources aimed at enhancing the safety and enjoyment of those who use the Genesee River.
