The annual Genesee River Wilds Float is an event you won’t want to miss!

Float Details

A float takes around four hours, depending on water levels. Expect conditions for intermediate ability levels. More information will be posted on water levels as the event draws near.

Float Checklist

Remember to bring your canoe or kayak, a life vest, a drink, sunscreen, hat, appropriate footwear and zip lock bag for your phone. A registration form and waiver are required for each person.

Float Proceeds

Proceeds from the float help Genesee River Wilds expand recreational access to the river and protect the health of the overall watershed. We’ve come a long way and have big dreams for the future!

2024 FLOAT INFORMATION

Saturday, June 1, 2024

Drop your boat and register at the Wellsville Riverwalk Plaza at 9:00 AM, Saturday June 1.

Drive your car to the Amity Park river access, we will shuttle you back up, to get on the river by 10:00.

The run should take around 4 hours. Expect conditions for beginner/intermediate boat handling skills. PLEASE: no flip-flops…wear appropriate footwear!

New this year, if you want to participate but do not own your own kayak, contact Epic Adventures for rentals!

A registration form and waiver are required for each person. Youth under 18 are free.

A $30 registration fee supports GRW in its efforts to protect and maintain your local river, shuttle service for the float, some GRW swag, and automatically enters you in the drawing to win a kayak!

The float will go off rain or shine barring extreme inclement weather or unsuitable water levels. An email will go out if we do need to cancel at the last minute.
